US Bank Tower Los Angeles

The most recognizable high-rise symbol of Los Angeles , the US Bank Tower rises 310 meters in the business center of the city. The 72-story skyscraper is surrounded by other high-rises, but stands out perfectly against their background thanks to its unusual round section, light facade and stepped architecture of strict lines striving upward. Inside, everything is outdated in the best feeling of the word: shaded marble trim in cleaned floors, enormous floor-to-roof windows, rapid lifts and different components of the style of tycoon money managers. It’s just a pity that office clerks are admiring this splendor - the Tower would be just right for a five-star hotel.

A Little History

The US Bank Tower was built in two years, from 1987 to 1989. Construction cost a tidy sum of 350 million USD, but when it comes to government orders, it is clear that they do not skimp on costs. Until 2004, the skyscraper was considered the tallest building in the world with a helipad on the roof, but with the opening of the Taipei 101 high-rise, it lost first place in the ranking and today is the tallest building in the state of California and the tenth tallest in the United States.

The skyscraper has another name - Library Tower, by which it was known until 2003. This is due to the fact that the construction of the Tower was originally planned as part of a program to improve the Los Angeles Library.

What to See

Today, the US Bank Tower houses offices, most of which have nothing to do with the banking system. Entry is by pass, and tours of the skyscraper, unfortunately, are not available. The only available option to get acquainted with the interiors is to dine at one of several restaurants located in the skyscraper. But nothing will interfere with enjoying the strict lines of the facades - the Bank Tower is clearly visible from almost anywhere in Los Angeles.
